Weihnachten … ohne mich, mein Schatz! is a German comedy about a marriage pushed to its breaking point. After thirty years together, architect Ruprecht forgets his wife Johanna at a taxi stand—and doesn't apologize. Fed up, Johanna leaves him just before Christmas and moves in with Ellie, a young taxi driver she's just met. When a powerful real estate developer threatens to demolish Ellie's home illegally, Johanna discovers a renewed sense of purpose and dusts off her dormant legal skills. The twist: Ruprecht is working for the very speculator trying to destroy the building. As the holiday season unfolds, Johanna must fight her estranged husband and his corporate allies to save her new friend's home, while reckoning with her own future.
