Jorinde und Joringel is a fantasy film based on the classic German fairy tale. Two young people—Jorinde and Joringel—grow up sheltered on a remote farm, unaware of the dark magic lurking in the forest around them. When a shape-shifting sorceress abducts the beautiful Jorinde, transforming her into a nightingale, Joringel embarks on a desperate quest to rescue her from an enchanted castle. There, Jorinde exists among countless other bewitched women, seemingly lost forever. Yet the power of their love allows Joringel to recognize his beloved among a flock of nightingales and break the spell. His struggle doesn't end with magic, however—he must also defend his family against real-world threats, fighting off marauders to restore peace to his world.
