In the King of Prussia(1983)
And they shall beat their swords into ploughshares.
In the King of Prussia is a dramatization of the 1980 trial of the Plowshares Eight, a group of Christian anti-war activists. In September 1980, they infiltrated a General Electric weapons plant in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and staged a direct action against nuclear proliferation: pouring their own blood onto classified missile blueprints, burning files, and damaging nuclear missile nosecones. The film intercuts the dramatized events with actual news footage from the trial. The activists portray themselves in the production, which was shot as a direct-to-video feature. After filming wrapped, the group reported to prison to serve their sentences. The result is a stark, documentary-inflected account of conscience-driven civil disobedience and its legal consequences.
