Subterfuge is a spy thriller that pulls a former scuba diver out of retirement when a commercial jetliner mysteriously crashes into the Black Sea. Jonathan Slade, now a beach-bum living off the grid, is forced back into the world of international espionage to recover the aircraft's black boxes. He teams up with his computer-hacker brother and heads to a resort on the Russian-Turkish border, only to find himself paired with Alex, a skilled and enigmatic secret agent.
