Sleeping with the Fishes follows Alexis Fish, a woman adrift after her cheating husband's death, working odd jobs as a phone sex operator and sandwich shop employee to make ends meet. When she returns to Brooklyn for her aunt's funeral, Alexis dreads facing her overbearing mother and admitting how far her life has fallen. Surrounded by her eccentric sister Kayla and a promising new romance, Alexis begins to confront the grief and shame holding her back. The film traces her messy, funny journey toward self-acceptance and independence, as she learns to release her past and build a future on her own terms. A darkly comedic portrait of family, reinvention, and finding yourself when you've hit bottom.
