Ninja Resurrection is a dark fantasy anime set during Japan's Tokugawa era, when Christians faced brutal persecution. The leader of the Shimabara Rebellion, Amakusa Shirō, is assassinated while defending his persecuted faith. His vengeful spirit returns from the dead, unleashing demonic chaos on the land. It falls to the legendary swordsman Yagyū Jūbei Mitsuyoshi to confront Amakusa's restless ghost and stop the supernatural carnage.
