The Dark House(2009)

The Dark House is a Polish thriller set across two timelines in the Bieszczady Mountains. In 1978, zootechnician Edward Srodon makes an unexpected stop at the remote Dziabas family farm. Years later, during Poland's Martial Law period, a People's Militia investigation team arrives at the same location to examine a crime scene. The film weaves between these moments, gradually revealing the dark secrets buried on the isolated property. Tension builds as the investigation uncovers connections to Srodon's fateful visit decades earlier, exploring themes of rural isolation, state surveillance, and hidden violence.
