The Profiteer(1974)

The Profiteer is an Italian drama set in the sun-baked city of Ostuni, Puglia. Ercole, a mute seminarian, arrives as driver and nurse to Parsifal, the paraplegic son of a wealthy landowning family. He quickly seduces the beautiful Baroness Clotilde, his employer's wife, entering a household where money, sex, and power are the only currencies that matter. As family members scheme and manipulate one another for advantage, Ercole emerges as the true predator—a calculating opportunist who feeds off their greed and dysfunction. The film explores corruption and moral decay within the Italian aristocracy, where everyone exploits everyone else, yet one outsider proves most ruthless of all.
