3cm is a documentary that examines Hong Kong's medical system through the story of a young patient with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, a genetic disorder causing noncancerous tumors throughout the body. Director Wong Siu-pong follows this patient as she navigates treatment while also grieving her mother, who died from the same disease. The film reveals how Hong Kong's government has been slow to approve drugs that could treat TSC, leaving patients and families caught between hope and bureaucratic delay. It's a deeply personal portrait of medical struggle and institutional failure, capturing both the physical toll of the disease and the emotional weight of loss within a single family.
