The New Nose(1916)

The New Nose is a silent comedy about Ernst, a man desperate to win over the athletic Anna Muskel. When he learns she'll only date a man with a specific nose shape, Ernst undergoes surgery to reshape his own. Still bandaged and tender from the procedure, he rushes to show Anna his new profile. She's thrilled and embraces him warmly—but her enthusiastic hug flattens his freshly operated nose. Panicked, Ernst scrambles to salvage the situation. Then he jolts awake: the entire ordeal was merely a dream, leaving him to wonder what he'll do next.
