A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop is a darkly comic crime film set in a remote Chinese desert town. Wang, a miserly and cunning noodle shop owner, discovers his neglected wife's affair with Li, a timid employee. When his wife gives Li a gun to kill Wang, the husband strikes first, bribing corrupt patrol officer Zhang to murder the lovers. But Zhang harbors his own ruthless agenda. As each character pursues their own violent scheme, the plan spirals into betrayal and bloodshed, with no one emerging unscathed. Director Zhang Yimou crafts a tense tale of greed, lust, and revenge where every player becomes both predator and prey.
