Anwar(2007)

Anwar is a film about a young artist who abandons his home to escape a world that no longer makes sense to him. Seeking love and connection, he faces a cascade of betrayals: his mentor disappears, his best friend turns against him, and his only true love abandons him. Broken and exhausted, he takes shelter in an abandoned building. When he wakes the next morning, his life spirals further into chaos. Mistaken for a terrorist, Anwar becomes trapped in a nightmarish web of circumstances that expose the fragility of identity and belonging in contemporary India and beyond. The film explores how quickly trust can shatter and how easily an outsider can become a scapegoat in a world governed by fear and suspicion.
