Paradise of Night(1982)

Paradise of Night is a Korean drama about sacrifice and heartbreak in the shadow of poverty. Yun-Shik rescues Na-Bi, a sex worker, and stands by her through her pregnancy despite the child not being his own. When Na-Bi's former lover Park Wu-Cheol and Yun-Shik's own lover Ha-Young conspire to drive them apart, Na-Bi returns to prostitution to survive and support her baby. Yun-Shik falls ill searching for her through the city streets. Desperate and homeless in winter, Na-Bi finally seeks him out, only to discover he has died. The film traces how circumstance and cruelty destroy those who love unconditionally, leaving Na-Bi alone with her grief and her child.
