I am William(2017)

I am William is a coming-of-age film about a boy navigating family hardship and unexpected responsibility. With his father deceased and mother struggling with mental illness, William lives under the care of his uncle Nils, a small-time hustler drowning in debt to local gangsters. Determined to save his uncle from danger, William embarks on a mission to settle the mounting obligation—a quest that tests his courage and maturity. Along the way, he hopes to win the attention of Viola, a girl from his class. The film follows William as he confronts adult problems far beyond his years, discovering what it takes to be a man when circumstances demand it.
