Baader-Meinhof Gang(2007)
The Baader-Meinhof Gang is a historical drama following the rise and fall of the RAF (Rote Armee Fraktion), a left-wing militant group that emerged from West Germany's student movement in the late 1960s. Born from radical idealism, the collective carried out bombings, assassinations, and hijackings throughout the 1970s, aiming to overthrow the state. Inspired partly by the 1965 Watts riots in Los Angeles, the RAF's founders believed violent action could spark revolutionary change. Instead, their campaign transformed West Germany into a surveillance state gripped by fear and paranoia. The film examines how youthful political conviction spiraled into terrorism, and how a generation's dream of revolution ended in failure and bloodshed. A stark portrait of ideology meeting brutal reality.
