Chroniques is an experimental film essay that weaves together fictional scenes and archival footage from early 20th-century Pathé and Gaumont collections. Two characters guide viewers through the work via interior monologues, exploring themes of exile and exodus across European history. The film moves fluidly between grainy stock footage and digital imagery, treating historical records like pages in a family album—blending personal narrative with imaginative reinterpretation. Rather than presenting facts in linear fashion, Chroniques invites viewers to discover meaning in the spaces between memory, myth, and documented reality. The result is a poetic meditation on how we understand our shared past.
