By day they battle each other while salvaging sunken gold at forty fathoms deep; by night they clash over women. Their volatile rivalry intensifies when both men take jobs with Helen Young, a tug-boat and salvage business owner who becomes caught between them. The film captures the tension of two strong-willed men who cannot coexist, no matter how vast their surroundings.
