The Man from Chernobyl(1986)

The Man from Chernobyl is a Greek comedy following Sifis, who escapes Athens smog with his family for a quieter countryside life. When radiation from the Chornobyl disaster reaches their new home, Sifis becomes an unwilling victim of its bizarre side effects. A trip back to the city to buy supplies triggers a grotesque transformation: his hair falls out and a tail sprouts from his body. What begins as a search for clean air turns into a darkly comic nightmare as Sifis navigates public humiliation and physical mutation. The film blends absurdist humor with the real anxieties of the 1986 nuclear disaster, using Sifis's misfortune to satirize both rural escape fantasies and the invisible dangers lurking in everyday life.
