Forester Yuri Savushkin has spent years protecting the wildlife of the Ugryumovsky Nature Reserve. His quiet routine is upended when a group of outsiders—local children, an American scientist, and an academic zoologist—arrive searching for a rare animal rumored to inhabit the reserve.
