A Beautiful Dream(2020)

A Beautiful Dream is a documentary about the making of María Luisa Bemberg's final film, De eso no se habla, and the profound connection between the legendary director and Alejandra Podestá, the actress she cast in the lead role opposite Marcello Mastroianni. When Bemberg needed a dwarf actress for the production, Podestá answered an open call and secured the part. Through interviews with crew members and friends, alongside Podestá's own reflections, the film chronicles their creative partnership and mutual influence. The documentary becomes a dual tribute to both women—Bemberg, a pioneering Argentine filmmaker, and Podestá, whose life was cut short by murder in 2011. It's an intimate portrait of artistic collaboration, ambition, and the lasting legacy these two remarkable figures left behind.
