Naanum Oru Thozhilali(1986)

Naanum Oru Thozhilali is a Tamil film that began production in 1980 under director C. V. Sridhar, originally titled Sakthi. The project reunited Sridhar with Kamal Haasan following their 1978 success Ilamai Oonjal Aadukirathu, and was designed as Kamal's first lead pairing with actress Ambika. Shot in Cinemascope, the film encountered significant delays and remained shelved for years before resurfacing in 1986 as Meendum Suryodayam. Production resumed with a planned May 1986 release, though the title underwent another change due to local political sensitivities following state elections. The film's troubled journey from conception to release reflects the complexities of Tamil cinema production during the 1980s.
