A Fragile Bond follows Mina, an Ethiopian girl adopted into a white middle-class family alongside her biological sister. For years, the abandonment seems resolved. But at thirteen, identity crisis strikes hard. Caught between two worlds and feeling like an outsider in her own home, Mina spirals into destructive behaviour—lashing out at her sister, manipulating her parents, and fracturing the family from within. Jealousy and rage consume her as she tests the limits of her adoptive parents' love. Judith and Lionel struggle to understand their daughter's pain, unsure whether devotion alone can bridge the chasm between them. A Fragile Bond examines the hidden costs of adoption, the turbulent adolescent search for belonging, and whether family bonds can survive when a child feels fundamentally displaced.
