Main basse sur le magot is a 1930s French crime caper set among Paris street urchins and petty criminals. Loulou, a broke hustler, owes money to a dangerous gang and desperately needs cash. When Paul, who's infatuated with her, spots an opportunity at a small jewelry store, it seems like the perfect heist. But Loulou's accomplice Jo proves unreliable, and the shop's owner, Madame Mercandieux, won't surrender her wares without a fight. Paul, determined not to be sidelined, complicates matters further.
