Be Absolute for Death(2020)

Be Absolute for Death is a short film by director John C. Lynch, created for the Thessaloniki International Film Festival's "Spaces #2" project. Seven internationally acclaimed filmmakers were commissioned to shoot intimate pieces at home during quarantine, drawing inspiration from Georges Perec's essay collection "Species of Spaces." Each director crafted a personal response to pandemic isolation using their immediate surroundings—rooms, outdoor terraces, gardens, and balconies. Lynch's contribution explores the confined spaces and relationships that defined lockdown life, offering a meditative take on domesticity and isolation during an unprecedented moment in modern history.
