Black Horse Memories(2015)

Black Horse Memories is a drama set in Turkish Kurdistan, where a group of young activists risks everything to teach and preserve the Kurdish language in defiance of government prohibition. They operate clandestine schools and print forbidden textbooks in secret. When Aseke, a dedicated member of the group, is killed during a dangerous mission, her friends honor her final wish: to retrieve a black horse she raised in the remote Anatolian mountains so they can say goodbye before her burial. The horse's arrival triggers a series of unexpected and transformative events that test the bonds of friendship and reshape their understanding of loss and resistance. Black Horse Memories weaves together themes of cultural survival, sacrifice, and the power of memory in a landscape where both language and identity are under threat.
