Amal(1952)

Amal is an Egyptian drama centered on a newborn girl caught between family duty and betrayal. When Hussein marries the dancer Suhair against his family's wishes, they have a daughter named Amal. Rushing to announce the birth, Hussein is struck by a car and dies, but not before entrusting his uncle with his wife and child's welfare. The uncle, now guardian of Hussein's estate, becomes consumed by greed and schemes to claim the inheritance for himself. Amal grows up in the shadow of her father's death and her uncle's treachery, her future hanging on whether the truth will emerge and justice prevail.
