Borrego is a thriller about a botanist who relocates to a small desert town to study invasive plants. While conducting field research, she discovers a crashed plane and is taken captive by an inexperienced drug mule who forces her to guide him across the scorching desert to his supply drop. A local sheriff becomes entangled in the search when his rebellious daughter sets out to find the missing woman, while they're all pursued by a ruthless local drug receiver. The film explores survival and desperation against the harsh backdrop of the American Southwest, as multiple forces converge in the unforgiving landscape.
