Soviet Rock(1980)

Soviet Rock is a documentary that captures Spring Rhythms, one of the USSR's first official rock festivals, held in Tbilisi from March 8–16, 1980. Organized by renowned music journalist Artemiy Troitskiy in cooperation with the Georgian government, the event brought together Soviet rock musicians during a tightly controlled era. The festival's most memorable moment came when the band Aquarium was removed from the stage for their provocative performance—a stark reminder of the tensions between artistic expression and state authority. An official album documenting the festival's performances was released in 1981, preserving a pivotal moment in Soviet rock history.
