Das Wunder von Berlin is a German drama set in East Germany during 1988, as the Cold War nears its end. Jürgen Kaiser, a loyal Stasi agent, finds himself caught between his ideological convictions and his troubled relationship with his rebellious son Marco, a punk musician. When Marco is arrested and conscripted into the army, he unexpectedly embraces socialist ideology, believing he must defend his country from capitalist threats. This ideological shift creates tension within the family: while Jürgen struggles to understand his son's transformation, Marco's girlfriend Anja and his mother Hanna, both sympathetic to the emerging civil rights movement, reject his newfound nationalism.
