Cookie's Fortune is a dark comedy about the ripple effects of an old woman's death in the small Mississippi town of Holly Springs. When Cookie dies, her eccentric family and close friends react in wildly different ways, each driven by their own secrets and desires. Her niece Camille, a controlling woman obsessed with respectability, decides to stage the death as a suicide to protect the family's reputation and secure an inheritance. The deception unravels as the town's residents—including Cookie's devoted caretaker and a local handyman—become entangled in the cover-up.
