The Devil is a Polish historical film following a young nobleman named Jakub who is rescued from prison by a mysterious stranger with a sinister price. In exchange for his freedom, Jakub must provide the names of his fellow conspirators. As he travels across the country with his enigmatic savior, Jakub witnesses escalating chaos and moral decay that gradually unravels his mind. The psychological descent culminates in violence as he transforms into a serial killer, consumed by the corruption surrounding him.
