Sweet As is an Australian coming-of-age film about Murra, a troubled 15-year-old whose uncle, a policeman, enrolls her in a photo-safari program for at-risk youth. Reluctant at first, Murra boards a bus headed to Western Australia's remote Pilbara region alongside four other teenagers—the sharp-tongued Kylie, anxious Sean, carefree Elvis, and two counsellors. As the group travels through the outback, they discover friendship, romance, and hard truths about growing up. The journey becomes transformative, forcing each teen to confront their own struggles while learning what it means to connect with others. Sweet As balances humour and heart, capturing both the lightness of youth and the weight of real-world challenges that test their newfound bonds.
