ANY EMOTION AT THE TOUCH OF A FINGER

APPyness is a science fiction short film about a troubled young woman who discovers an app capable of controlling her emotions. She begins testing the technology, manipulating when and how she feels, hoping to escape her psychological struggles. As she experiments with emotional regulation at the tap of a screen, the film explores the seductive appeal and dangerous consequences of outsourcing human feeling to artificial systems. What starts as liberation becomes something more unsettling as she loses touch with authentic emotional experience. The film raises urgent questions about mental health, technology dependence, and what it means to be human when we can simply delete our pain.
