Authentiques(2000)

Authentiques is a documentary that follows the French rap group NTM through 1998, capturing rehearsals at Paris's Pee Wee studio, a tour across France from La Réunion to the Zénith in Paris, and the turbulent moments that defined the year. The film interweaves intimate interviews with members Joeystarr and Kool Shen as they reflect on their partnership, legal battles, media conflicts, and the creative collectives emerging around them—including B.O.S.S. and IV My People. Raw and unflinching, Authentiques documents both the group's artistic momentum and the personal tensions threatening to tear them apart, while questioning whether NTM's reign was entering its final chapter.
