Captureland(2014)

Captureland is a short film directed by Nabil Elderkin, inspired by Nelson Mandela's words and the song "Capture Land" by Jamaican artist Chronixx. Shot in the historic Port Royal neighborhood of Kingston, Jamaica, the film draws on the community's rich cultural heritage and welcoming spirit. Elderkin weaves together Mandela's legacy of resistance and hope with Chronixx's reggae soundscape to create a meditation on identity, freedom, and place. The film captures Port Royal's distinctive character while exploring themes of resilience and belonging that resonate across generations and borders.
