Harjaee(1981)

Harjaee is an Indian drama about Ajay Nath, a wealthy young man who manipulates those around him with elaborate pranks—including faking a cancer diagnosis to skip college. When he falls for Geeta Chopra, who's already interested in someone else, his deception backfires. Ajay's father believes the false illness and convinces Geeta to spend time with him. The two genuinely fall in love and plan to marry, but tragedy strikes when doctors confirm Ajay actually has cancer and only months to live. Both families oppose the union, forcing Ajay and Geeta to fight for their relationship against impossible odds. The film explores whether their love can survive a cruel twist of fate—and whether Ajay's history of lies has finally caught up with him.
