Inugami(2001)

Inugami is a Japanese horror film following Akira, a Tokyo teacher who relocates to a remote rural town for work. He quickly becomes drawn to Miki, a papermaker from an enigmatic local family. When Akira learns the family is supposedly cursed by the Inugami—an ancient dog god—he dismisses it as folklore. But as unexplained deaths plague the town, suspicion and fear grip the community. Akira must uncover the dark truth behind Miki's family and the curse that may be all too real. The film blends supernatural mystery with romantic tension as the protagonist grapples with belief, skepticism, and the possibility that some legends exist for a reason.
