Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House is a Japanese series following two women who arrive in Kyoto from Aomori Prefecture with dreams of becoming maiko. When circumstances derail Kiyo's path, she becomes the live-in cook at a maiko house, preparing homecooked meals for her housemates. Meanwhile, Sumire pursues her own maiko aspirations, emerging as a once-in-a-century talent. Set in Kagai, Kyoto's historic geiko and maiko district, the series weaves together the daily lives of these women as they navigate tradition, ambition, and friendship. Kiyo's kitchen becomes the heart of their shared home, where nourishment and bonds deepen amid the demands of their unconventional paths.
