Shi Cha Hai(2020)

Shi Cha Hai is a Chinese drama following three generations of a family navigating life in Beijing's historic Hutong district. When the neighborhood transforms into a bustling tourist attraction, elderly Zhuang Weitian's quiet existence is disrupted. A newcomer named Tong Dawei arrives with a carefree attitude that clashes with the old man's strict adherence to tradition—though Dawei's real motive is winning over Zhuang Jing, Weitian's granddaughter. He becomes Weitian's tai chi apprentice to gain favor. Meanwhile, Weitian's son Zhuang Zhiwei, despite holding a steady job, struggles to find love again when his ex-wife unexpectedly returns. His younger brother Zhibin, desperate to preserve his dignity, makes poor investment decisions and falls victim to fraud, ultimately leading to his expulsion from the family home. The series explores how modernization, romance, and family pride collide within the walls of traditional Beijing.
