The Winter Melon Tale(2009)

The Winter Melon Tale is a supernatural comedy series following Fan Tung, one of the four deities under the Stove God, who is imprisoned for 500 years inside a winter melon as punishment for offending the Queen Mother of the West. When a mortal couple accidentally frees him, Tung is accidentally flattened by the husband's brother and his spirit mysteriously inhabits the man's body, leaving him stripped of his divine powers and instincts. Forced to live as a human in an ordinary household, Tung struggles to adapt to domestic life while the suspicious wife attempts to expose his true identity. Unable to return to Heaven, Tung relies on six minor deities who absorbed his lost instincts to navigate the bewildering complexities of human nature and emotion. The series blends fantasy elements with comedy as a divine being learns what it means to be mortal.
