The Sentimental Agent is a British television drama that spun off from Man of the World. Produced by Associated Television in 1963 and distributed by ITC Entertainment, the series comprises 13 one-hour monochrome episodes. Some footage was later edited into the 1962 feature film Our Man in the Caribbean. Carlos Varela, an impeccably dressed Argentinian import-export agent based in London, navigates unusual and often perilous business deals with wit, charm, and quick thinking. His work frequently involves rescuing women in distress. Varela relies on two trusted allies: Chin, a resourceful Chinese manservant, and Miss Carter, his ultra-efficient secretary. Together, they transform routine commercial assignments into adventures that test Varela's ingenuity and nerve.
