Au Revoir Shanghai(2008)

Au Revoir Shanghai is a 1930s drama following Nip Chun, a retired Shanghai gang leader who abandons his criminal past after his wife's death. Now selling steamed buns and employing helper Ho Shui-Sau, Chun seeks redemption through honest work. His departure devastates loyal follower Shek Sai-Kau, who expected Chun to remain in power. Chun's fragile peace shatters when he discovers that gang member Wu Tai-Tsuen may have orchestrated his wife's death. As his former associates begin dying under mysterious circumstances, Chun is pulled back into the underworld he tried to escape. Caught between his desire for a clean break and the need for answers, he must confront the violent world he once ruled and the secrets that refuse to stay buried.
