Back in the USSR is a Russian drama series following Anton Radimov, a wealthy 34-year-old businessman spiraling into alcoholism and existential malaise. When his friend Andrey drags him to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, Anton encounters a mysterious figure called "Stalker" who promises genuine adventure and feeling. Through an inexplicable twist, Anton is transported back to April 27, 1975, where he discovers his true love and a life worth living. Torn between two eras, Anton must choose between the hollow success of his present and the authentic connection waiting in the Soviet past. The series blends magical realism with intimate character study, exploring themes of redemption, lost love, and whether it's ever possible to reclaim what we've abandoned.
