Carson's Law(1983)

Carson's Law is an Australian television series that aired on the Ten Network from 1983 to 1984. Set in the 1920s, the show follows Jennifer Carson, a progressive solicitor played by Lorraine Bayly, as she navigates legal cases while managing family complications. Each episode centres on the cases Jennifer takes on and the personal intrigues surrounding her household. The series premiered with a 90-minute episode on 24 January 1983, followed by a two-hour instalment the next night, before shifting to a twice-weekly schedule. Produced by Crawford Productions, Carson's Law earned praise for its sharp scripts and authentic period design. Though it found strong audiences in Melbourne, where it was filmed, the show struggled to gain traction in Sydney. After 184 episodes, it was cancelled in 1984, with the final episode airing on 1 December.
