Alcoa Theatre is an American anthology series that aired on NBC from 1957 to 1960, presenting standalone stories of ordinary people facing sudden, unexpected danger. The half-hour episodes alternated Monday nights at 9:30 pm and were also released under the title Turn of Fate. The show featured a rotating cast of major stars including David Niven, Robert Ryan, Jane Powell, Jack Lemmon, and Charles Boyer, each taking on both dramatic and comedic roles throughout the first season. Alcoa Theatre evolved from The Alcoa Hour, a one-hour predecessor that debuted in 1955 before being condensed and repositioned for prime time. The series was later syndicated alongside Goodyear Theatre as Award Theatre, bringing these tense, character-driven narratives to wider audiences across the country.
