Pupetta, Woman of Honor(2013)

Pupetta, Woman of Honor is an Italian drama series set in 1950s Naples during the height of Camorra violence. The story follows Pupetta Maresca, a defiant young woman who refuses to bow to the criminal underworld's brutal logic. After witnessing a murder, she chooses to speak the truth despite the overwhelming power of local boss Don Luigi Vitiello, whose marriage proposal she rejects for love of Michele. Together they wage a personal war against Vitiello's abuses and his obsession with controlling both Pupetta and the General Markets that Michele runs. Months into her marriage to Pasquale Simonetti, Pupetta faces her greatest test when her husband is assassinated on Vitiello's orders. Pregnant and grieving, she takes matters into her own hands, pursuing her husband's killer with unflinching resolve. The series explores courage, passion, and one woman's refusal to accept the Camorra's code of silence.
