The New Adventures of Zorro(1981)

The New Adventures of Zorro is an animated series produced by Filmation in 1981, based on Johnston McCulley's classic character. The show ran for 13 episodes as part of The Tarzan/Lone Ranger/Zorro Adventure Hour, following the masked vigilante's exploits in old California. Unlike Filmation's other productions, the animation was outsourced to Tokyo Movie Shinsha in Japan rather than handled in-house. The series marked producer Norm Prescott's final project with the studio, ending Filmation's rotating producer system. After this, Lou Scheimer took sole production control of the company's output, ushering in a new era for the legendary animation house.
