Off the Rack(1985)

Off the Rack is an American comedy series set in the Los Angeles garment industry, starring Ed Asner and Eileen Brennan. The show aired on ABC in 1984–1985, filmed at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. Directed by Noam Pitlik, Off the Rack followed the lives and conflicts of people working in the competitive fashion business. Despite early promise, the series struggled to find an audience and was canceled after just six episodes and a pilot that aired as a special in December 1984. It premiered as a mid-season replacement alongside Mr. Belvedere, though both shows faced challenges in the crowded television landscape. Writer Lissa Levin and director Noam Pitlik later moved on to work on other projects following the cancellation.
