Amor e Revolução(2011)

Amor e Revolução is a Brazilian telenovela that aired on SBT from 2011 to 2012, marking the first such series to centre on the country's military dictatorship. Set in the 1960s and 1970s, it follows Maria Paixão, a young woman fighting in the armed resistance, and José Guerra, a military officer who secretly opposes the regime. Despite their opposing sides, they fall in love and navigate persecution, violence, and ideological conflict as their relationship unfolds against one of Brazil's most turbulent historical periods. Created by Tiago Santiago and directed by Reynaldo Boury, the series stars Graziella Schmitt, Cláudio Lins, and Lúcia Veríssimo, weaving together personal tragedy and political struggle in a story of forbidden romance amid state repression.
