The Advocates(1991)

The Advocates is a Scottish legal drama set in Edinburgh, where the city's respected lawyers and advocates operate in stark contrast to its criminal underworld of pimps, prostitutes, and drug dealers. When a young sex worker dies from what appears to be a drug overdose, Dr. Joe Sangster suspects murder. As fear over drugs and AIDS spreads through Edinburgh, Sangster's health clinic faces closure from a local campaign. He enlists young lawyer Greg McDowell, who sees the case as his chance to build a reputation. The series explores the collision between the polished legal profession and the city's darkest streets, where justice and survival hang in the balance.
